Welcome, 5th Grade Families!

Thanks again to all of you who donated to the 5th Grade Fund and helped us meet our challenge to double it!  The kids seemed to enjoy the celebratory pizza party! We currently have a total of $6,670.

Also, thanks to everyone who helped make our Silent Auction a success!  We made around $4,000 from that event - way to go!

Yearbook Questionnaire

Dear Gant Fifth Grade Families,

It’s hard to believe our children are in their final year at Gant Elementary. We have a lot of great ideas to make this a very exciting year for them! We know how much the students look forward to the special traditions and activities of 5th grade at Minnie Gant, all of which are made possible each year through the 5th Grade Fund.

What does the 5th Grade Fund pay for?

To the extent that funds have been raised, the 5th graders receive keepsakes like:

  • Class t-shirts, yearbooks, leis, a legacy tile and yard sign for each promoting student

  • An end of year promotion ceremony

  • The end of year Play Day and the Parent-Student Kickball Game

  • A class gift to Minnie Gant

How Can You Help?

One responsibility of Gant 5th graders and their families is to raise money for the 5th Grade Fund which directly benefits 5th grade students. It takes in excess of $10,000 each year to provide just the traditional 5th Grade activities and keepsakes. To help raise money, we ask each family to please donate $100 per student to the 5th Grade Fund. This is our first 5th grade fundraiser of the year. While we ask for $100 per student, we welcome and appreciate any donation amount and you may opt to donate more to support other 5th graders. The 5th Grade Committee will also organize other fundraisers throughout the year as needed to help raise money for the 5th Grade Fund.

Please make your donations online at:

Thank you in advance for your help and support this year. If you are interested in joining a committee, please reach out to Tracie Montoya, the Fifth Grade Chair. We welcome your ideas and participation. Together, we are going to make this a memorable last year for Gant’s Class of 2022!
